Bonfire Safety

rubbish burning on a bonfire

We are again working with Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Fire Service and the Police to keep bonfire night safe for everyone.

You can help by reporting dangerous bonfires or piles of rubbish that could be set alight in your neighbourhood.

We would always urge people, particularly those with young children, to go to properly organised displays.

Incommunities will be checking on bonfires on our land to ensure they are safe.

What makes a bonfire unsafe:

  • when it is too close to a building, road, power lines, trees and utility supply points
  • when it is poorly stacked, too tall and unstable
  • NEVER put white goods, cylinders, gas canisters, oil or chemical drums, tyres, foam filled furniture/carpets on a bonfire.

Any unsafe bonfires on Incommunities land will be removed. For safety advice please ring 01274 257990.

To report an unsafe bonfire (or fly tipped rubbish) on our land ring 0330 175 9540. Ring Bradford Council on 01274 431000 (for Council/private land).
